Meet Our Pastor
Peace of Christ to all.
Welcome to our web home. My wife Mary and I are excited to now be living in Utica and ministering to such a great group of people. We have been members of the West Second Avenue Presbyterian Church since 1984, where we served both as deacons, and then elders. In 2000 I started my journey into the ministry. This was long over do since as a child one of my ambitions was to be a pastor.
I grew up on a dairy farm in Delaware County with three brothers and two sisters. There I found out what long hours and hard work was. I graduated from Big Walnut High School and then was drafted into the army where I spent fifteen months in Viet Nam as a medic. Upon returning I started working at Harding Hospital as a Phyc. Tech. I am currently employed by Sandel Corp as a mechanical insulator mechanic.
Mary and I, in our thirty years of marriage, have raised seven children, yours, mine and ours — two boys and five girls (that might be too many girls in one home). They have all been a blessing to us. I've heard that grandchildren are the blessing you receive for not disowning your children while they mature. We have sixteen blessings ranging from one to nineteen.
My hobbies are carpentry and fishing but my passion is my ministry. I look forward to serving God in this capacity for a long time. If it wasn't for God's calling I would still be fishing the creek, because of my Savior, I am now a fisher of men. May God bless you in all you do.
